A Man is Convicted in Vladimir For Hitting a Policeman During a Protest

He will spend a year and a half in a penal colony

In Vladimir, the Leninsky District Court sentenced Valery Lavrov, who used violence not dangerous to life and health against a police officer during an action in support of Navalny.

“The court verdict established that on 23.01.2021. L., being at Teatralnaya square in Vladimir, realizing that police officer M. is a representative of authority and is in the performance of his official duties, deliberately struck M. in the chest with his hand”, – reports the press service of the court.

The defendant in the case was sentenced to one and a half years in a penal colony. The sentence has not yet entered into legal force.

We remind that on 5 March Leninski District Court in Vladimir sentenced another participant of the action – Vitaly Timofeyenka, who sprayed pepper spray in the face of a police officer. He was sentenced to three years in a general regime penal colony. We failed to appeal the verdict in a higher court.
