The regional prosecutor’s office has taken control of information about pollution of a tributary of the Klyazma River – the Bolshaya Lipnya in Petushinsky district. The police were involved in the investigation of the causes of the incident, said the press service of the supervisory authority.
“On the initiative of the prosecutor’s office of Petushinsky district the police conduct a procedural check. The results of all verification activities are under control of the leadership of the regional prosecutor’s office”, – told the press service of the agency.
Recall, on November 7, fishermen, as well as residents of the village of Norkino and the settlement of Trud of Petushinsky district noticed a serious pollution of the river Bolshaya Lipnya. Fish was dying in the pond, and the water surface was covered with a solid layer of white foam that had a pungent odor. Citizens filmed what was happening on video.
The next day the head of Petushinsky district, as well as employees of Rosprirodnadzor and environmental prosecutor’s office visited the place. It is reported that the authorities are coordinating actions to eliminate pollution with the district department of defense and emergency situations. According to the district administration, the alleged perpetrator of pollution is known, now he is involved in determining the source and amount of harmful emissions.
According to social network users, the pollutant could have entered the water through a plastic pipe extended to the river from a large farm.
