The Oktyabrsky District Court remanded the acting vice-governor Grigory Vishnevsky in custody. He will spend two months in the detention center, until January 14, 2022. The judge made that decision at the request of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Vladimir region.
Recall that Grigory Vishnevsky is accused under paragraph “c” of Part 5 Article 290 of the Criminal Code – “taking bribes on a large scale. According to investigators, the official for a reward of 600 thousand rubles promised a businessman not to allow possible negative consequences for his firm on one of the state contracts. According to the press service of the Oktyabrsky district court, we are talking about the overhaul of the building of grammar school № 1 named after Barsukov in Kovrov – the contract for the works was signed with LLC “Gradial”. The contract price was almost 245 million rubles, the work was to be completed by December 2020, but it was delayed.
The Investigative Committee claims that Vishnevsky was detained on November 15 while receiving part of the bribe in the amount of 400 thousand rubles. The official himself did not plead guilty.
On the eve of the meeting, the acting governor, Alexander Avdeev, stated that he categorically condemned any evidence of corruption. He also added that those who do not comply with the law have no place in the ranks of officials.
Grigory Vishnevsky joined the administration of the Vladimir region under former Governor Vladimir Sipyagin in March 2021. He supervises the social block, namely education, culture, sports, youth policy, the state commission for the protection of cultural heritage and the commission on minors’ affairs. In November, the new head Alexander Avdeev re-appointed Vishnevsky to the same position until December 30, 2021.
