Two Thousand Vladimir Region Residents Affected by Radiation Receive State Payments

On April 26, people remember the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant 35 years ago

In the Vladimir region, 2.2 thousand residents who suffered from radiation exposure receive a social payment. According to the press service of the regional administration, 1,059 of them are people with disabilities and liquidators of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. In the first quarter of 2021, more than 16 million rubles was allocated for this purpose.

The regional law also provides for monetary compensation for the widows of the liquidators of the consequences of nuclear accidents and radiation accidents, starting from 2013. This year the payment amount is 3751 rubles, in April 546 people received this amount.

On the eve of the 35th anniversary, social workers monitored the living conditions of 170 citizens who became disabled as a result of the Chernobyl accident. They received commemorative medals, flowers and sweet gifts and were informed about the social support measures available to them.

On April 26 events dedicated to the International Day of Remembrance of Chernobyl disaster are held. In Vladimir, EMERCOM employees laid wreaths to the monument “Wings”. 2717 residents of Vladimir took part in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident.
