Residents of the Vladimir region who have not received reimbursed drugs in time are entitled to use the free assistance of attorneys. The corresponding law was adopted by regional parliamentarians on October 28.
As deputy Sergei Biryukov explained, now the Vladimir region administration annually allocates about 19 million rubles to pay lawyers for citizens who are eligible for free assistance. Since lawyers do not work even half as much, the inclusion of another category of citizens among the beneficiaries of support will not require an increase in regional funding. For specific people, however, such assistance would not be superfluous.
Now citizens, who do not wait for prescription drugs in time, appeal to the prosecutor’s office. This mechanism, according to the deputy from the Communist Party Anton Sidorko, works quite successfully, so the lawyer’s support will duplicate and alternative way to protect their rights for citizens. All residents who have been prescribed drugs and who did not achieve their receipt within the designated time frame can claim for free legal assistance.
Let us remind you that in the Vladimir region in 2021 many beneficiaries of this type of support found themselves without medication due to non-compliance with deadlines for ordering discounted medication. The problem was particularly acute in February and lasted until mid-April. Certain categories of beneficiaries suffered from delays in drug provision until September 2021. During the pharmacy collapse, Vice-Governor Sergei Shevchenko and Elena Utemova, head of the regional healthcare department, lost their positions.
