Vladimir Residents Faces Difficulties With Payment of Fares by Transport Cards

The company says it is working to fix the technical glitch

On March 1, some residents of Vladimir encountered problems when paying for public transport with a new 100-ride ticket from the “Citicard” company. As a result, passengers had to pay with cash or a bank card.
The reason was a technical failure. This is reported in the group “” Sitikard “Transport Card of the city of Vladimir “in VKontakte:

“At the moment our specialists are working to eliminate the malfunction, in the near future it will be eliminated and the transport cards with which there were difficulties, will begin to work in normal mode.”

The company apologizes for the inconvenience and explains that if the passenger has paid by cash or bank card because of the failure, he can refund the fare. To do this, go to a point of service “Citicard” and show a ticket.

It should be added that in March, after the February increase in the cost of travel on public transport, new fares for all types of travel cards began to operate in Vladimir. A single social pass now costs Br487 (formerly Br455), while for students – Br330 (formerly Br300), for students – Br560 (formerly Br510). The price of a monthly pass, valid on all routes, has been set at Br1,700 since March (it used to be Br1,500). It is possible to make a maximum of 100 trips per month.

In addition, on the eve of the site of the company “Citicard,” there is an explanation of cashless fare payments through the applications Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay in smartphones under the sanctions imposed by Western countries. It said that if a passenger’s Visa or Mastercard cards of a Russian bank that has been hit by sanctions (VTB, Sovcombank, Novikombank, Promsvyazbank, Otkritie) are linked to the specified payment services, then it becomes impossible to pay the fare with the phone.

“At the same time payment for travel by contactless plastic card itself of any payment system of any bank should still work in public transport. Due to the restrictions in the work of bank payment services we recommend passengers to use another way of cashless fare payment – a transport card”, – summarized in the company “Citicard”.
