A Man From Vladimir Stole Eight Million Rubles to Repair Diesel Locomotives for the Defense Ministry

The crimes were committed from 2015 to 2017

The former general director of a Vladimir firm was sentenced to three and a half years in the case of theft of funds from the state defense order, the press service of the regional FSB reported.

As the court found, from 2015 to 2017, the citizen’s firm concluded 30 contracts for overhaul and maintenance of diesel locomotives, as well as rolling stock of the Ministry of Defense. The total value of the contracts amounted to eight million rubles.

As investigators established, the actual repair of traction stock under the defense order the firm of the perpetrator did not conduct. Counterparties signed acts of performance, and the funds were transferred in full. State prosecution estimated the damage at five million rubles. The defendant used the fraudulently obtained money for personal purposes.

The criminal case took place in August 2022 in the Leninsky district court of Vladimir. The convict will spend three and a half years in a minimum security penal colony.
