Vladimir Region Ranks Among the Ten Worst in Russia in Terms of the Number of Road Accidents With Victims

The number of accidents in the region has decreased, but there are still many dead and injured people

The experts of RIA Novosti compiled a rating of Russian regions in terms of accidents on the roads with victims. As the data took accidents that occurred in the first half of the year, that is, from January to June 2022.

For calculations, the number of accidents per 100 thousand people is taken. The national average for accidents is 92.6. This is 7.1% less compared to the same period in 2021. The number of the dead decreased by 3.1%, as well as the number of injured – by 7.2%.

Against this background, the data of experts on the Vladimir region do not look very bright. The region is in 78th place in the national ranking. So, for the first six months, 150.2 accidents with victims have been counted in the region. This is 8.9% less than over the same period in 2021. There are slightly more than 79 victims per 100 thousand people. This is the worst figure in Central Russia. Nizhny Novgorod region is slightly higher – 68th place. Ivanovo and Ryazan Regions have 44 and 53 places respectively. The capital region is in sixth place.

Chechen Republic is in first place. There’s a total of 15.6 accidents with victims per 100 thousand people. And the most dangerous in terms of accidents on the roads is the Republic of Tuva. In the first half of the year there were 240 road accidents with victims.
