The “Gift Case”: Georgy Uskov, Head of the Apparatus of the Vladimir Region Administration, Is Detained

The official is allegedly charged with embezzlement

According to ProVladimir sources, in the morning of January 20, Georgy Uskov, head of the White House administration, was detained in the Vladimir region administration. He was charged with embezzlement of state property. According to our sources, Uskov has already confessed to the charges. In the next few days, a measure of restraint will be chosen in regard to the official.

We may assume that after that the detention will be officially announced. Information on the investigative actions against the official also appeared in a number of Vladimir telegraph channels.

Criminal proceedings in relation to the head of the apparatus of the regional administration are being conducted jointly by the police and prosecutor’s office. The regional press service of the supervisory authority did not comment on this information. The episode of the criminal case involves the disappearance from the White House of gifts given to Governor Vladimir Sipyagin at various times.

Recall, Georgy Uskov became head of the administration apparatus in December 2019 at the age of 28. Previously, the official worked as an assistant to Sipyagin, served in the protocol service and was deputy chief of staff of the administration. Prior to working in the White House, Georgy Uskov served in the Vladimir regional court. During the time of Vladimir Sipyagin’s predecessors as governor, the position of chief of staff of the administration was tacitly considered to be equal in status to the vice-governor’s position.
