Representatives of several diplomatic missions visited the Vladimir region at once. In fact, this is the first visit after the coronavirus pandemic period, which is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia for diplomats. They came to the region to get acquainted with the potential of the territory and establish business contacts to develop cooperation.
The impressive delegation includes ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary, chargé d’affaires and advisors of the embassies of Angola, Benin, Guinea, Indonesia, Kenya, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Central African Republic, Tanzania, Eritrea, Ethiopia, South Africa and South Ossetia, according to the White House website.
They stayed in the Vladimir region for two days. The potential of the region was presented to the diplomats by Acting Governor Alexander Avdeev. He noted that the region has a huge cultural and historical heritage and great potential. In particular, the head of the region told about the construction of high-speed highway M-12, the transport route “One Belt and One Road”. Its appearance will open up many new opportunities, including international cooperation.
“We understand how quickly the world is changing, and how important it is to have reliable partners in different parts of the globe now. Food security issues are becoming the main theme of the coming years. Cooperation with the regions of Russia is the most important component of stabilization of the situation in the world and further development of civilization, “- said Alexander Avdeev.
Elena Podolko, curator of the diplomatic mission, Deputy Director of the State Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported that Vladimir region was not a random choice:
“It has a well developed infrastructure and training of highly qualified personnel. All these areas are of interest to our foreign partners. I can add that Vladimir is the living heart of the Russian land. The names of the brightest representatives of the Russian nation are woven with golden threads into the annals of the Vladimir region. And our foreign guests will definitely feel it, being here”.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs promised assistance in cooperation with future partner countries.
Among the most promising areas were education, tourism, agriculture, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
Jose Tavares, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Russian Federation, was interested in economic cooperation. The distance between Russia and Indonesia is very large, but logistical difficulties can be solved, the diplomat said:
“Our countries with powerful economies are members of the G20. The trade turnover between Indonesia and Russia is actively growing. Last year we recorded record figures and we hope very much that we will continue this trend. There is a huge number of commodity items that can be in demand in the markets of both countries.
The program of the diplomatic visit is rich. It includes familiarization with historical and cultural sights of Vladimir and Suzdal, and a visit to the Beko plant in Kirzhach district, as well as the agro-cultural complex “Bogdarnya” in Petushinsky district.
