Vladimir Region Rechecks Census Because of 25 Thousand “ Strangers”

Citizens gave unrealistic data

Alexander Bykov, head of Vladimir statistics state agency, admitted that about 10% of the citizens who filled out the data for the census through the State Service turned out to be “jokers. The information they entered contained internal contradictions.

As a result, the system automatically rejected such questionnaires in 25 thousand cases. Each of them refers to an entire household, which usually includes several people. The head of the statistical agency told about this in an interview with the television company “Gubernia-33.”

“All questions have some connection with each other and if you gave wrong data somewhere, this information will show up somewhere at some point and there will be a discrepancy.

The computer will automatically indicate that there is a mistake and a discrepancy. A person who is 37 years old cannot have a preschool education. We have a lot of such “preschoolers”. More than 25 thousand of them are open and obvious. These are households, there are a lot more people there.

This situation resulted in the need for the agency to involve specialists and double-check the census data in each case. As a result, the agency is not yet ready to provide accurate data. Initially, it was assumed that Russia’s first “electronic census” will provide statistical information in a short time.

“Now we are manually clarifying this data. No one counted on this time. The data should be accurate, the truth in the last instance. It’s extra work, but there’s nowhere to go. No one counted on such costs of the digital census,” added the head of Vladimirstat.

Earlier the statistical agency of the region reported that according to the results of the autumn All-Russian population census of 2021 the completeness of coverage exceeded 99%, and 14,7% of citizens passed the information in the electronic form. Thus, about 225 thousand people were enumerated through the portal of State Services, and about 10% of these signatures have already been recognized as “defective”.

During the census, the agency ranked the municipalities and the federal center sent down the plan for the “electronic self-transcription” to the region. It was expected that with the help of the State Service, the procedure would cover 20% of the region’s residents. It can be assumed that some citizens were strongly advised to take the census electronically, and they followed the recommendation without great enthusiasm.
